Strategy Ranking & Scoring: Find What Actually Works

An objective score from 0 to 100. No marketing, just data.

Every strategy in Backtrex is rated across 6 dimensions by our Backtrex Score algorithm. Browse the public leaderboard, compare strategies, and build confidence in your edge โ€” backed by data, not promises.

The Signal Seller Problem

Twitter gurus and YouTube influencers sell strategies with cherry-picked screenshots. There's no standard way to compare them. Win rate alone says nothing about risk. A 80% win rate with a 40% drawdown will blow your account.

Transparent, Verified Rankings

Backtrex rates every strategy on 6 dimensions: profitability, consistency, risk management, activity, robustness, and stability. The result is a single score from 0 to 100 that tells you exactly how a strategy performs โ€” with no way to fake it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Backtrex Score?
The Backtrex Score is a single number from 0 to 100 that rates a trading strategy's quality. Every published strategy runs through the same backtest across 16 assets and up to 10 years of data, then five weighted dimensions are combined into one comparable score. A higher score means stronger, more consistent historical performance.
How are the five scoring dimensions weighted?
Sharpe ratio carries the most weight, followed by max drawdown and profit factor, then win rate and trade count. The weighting rewards consistent risk-adjusted returns over a few lucky trades, so a strategy cannot reach the top of the leaderboard on a single outlier result.
What is a good Backtrex Score?
Scores above 70 indicate a robust strategy that held up across many assets and market conditions. Between 40 and 70 is workable but needs refinement. Below 40 usually signals overfitting or inconsistent results. Because every strategy is tested the same way, the score is directly comparable between strategies.
How is the leaderboard different from signal sellers?
Signal sellers show cherry-picked screenshots you cannot verify. The Backtrex leaderboard ranks strategies by an identical, transparent backtest, and only strategies that pass our quality threshold earn the Verified badge. You see exactly how each score was calculated, not a marketing claim.
Can I publish my own strategy to the leaderboard?
Yes. Once you build and backtest a strategy in Backtrex, you can publish it to the public leaderboard. It is scored with the same algorithm as every other entry and ranked alongside them, so your results stand on the same footing as everyone else's.
Does a high score guarantee future profits?
No. The Backtrex Score measures historical, backtested performance, not future results. Markets change, and past performance never guarantees future returns. The score is a tool to compare strategies objectively and filter out the obviously weak ones, not a promise of profit.
